I forgot my real camera, so again, I only have cell phone pics. I knew what I had to do when I posted before, I was really just hoping there was some magical way around it. I took the gouge out with 100 grit paper, but didn't do the whole wheel with 100 grit, and that's what I really had to do. So last night I did exactly that. The last pic was taken just before 1am, I am beat. I think I need to use an abrasive polish to get the luster and fine shine back, but I've never had good results with a rouge and flap wheel, because I can never get the compound to take to the wheel. Any other suggestions? Start:
Trying to only sand the bad area, LOL, I guess I've gotten lazy:
100 grit all around:
I then did 320, 400 wet, 800 wet, 1000 wet, 1200 wet, wash and dry. This was taken after 2000 (dry), just before #0000 steel wool, followed by 2000 again:
And my lame attempt at polishing at quarter of one in the morning (tired and wanting to sleep = really blurry):
Comments help and suggestions are always welcome. I want it to shine as close as I can to the first pic, minus the gouge of course.
